A record number of cases of the disease TBE have been reported during August this year. This is shown by preliminary figures from the Public Health Agency that P4 Sjuhärad reported on. A total of 170 cases were reported last month.
– There have been favorable conditions for ticks this year when it has been alternately warm and there has been a lot of rainfall, says infectious disease doctor Petter Malmström to the channel.
The number of TBE cases is increasing, but the number in the dark is relatively large as only those who actually seek care are included in the statistics.
