Sylvester Stallone was extremely unsuccessful in the 70s

In 1972, just before his breakthrough with Rocky, Stallone had nothing. He applied for an extra role in The Godfather – and didn’t get that job himself. “I couldn’t even be cast as an Italian. I’ll never forget that there was a party scene, with 300 guests! They said ‘no’. I said, ‘What part of me didn’t fulfill the Italian identification aspect?’.

The documentary will apparently explore this part of Stallone’s life in detail. In the trailer Stallone says: “I gave up acting. I was done.” But: “The rejection was my encouragement.“Because of course a Stallone documentary inevitably tells a hero’s journey.

When does Sly appear on Netflix?
