The issue has been relevant for several years in Hedemora and it was the cost that was the big issue when the City Council met on Tuesday to make a decision.
In the final vote, it was the ruling majority with twenty politicians who were in favor of building the swimming pool and the remaining fourteen from the opposition who were against.
Agree to investigate further
But the matter is not yet completely clear. The members also decided to spend one million kronor on continuing to investigate the issue of the swimming pool. That investigation must be completed and reported back to the municipal board in October.
Hedemora is one of several municipalities in Dalarna where swimming pool construction is high on the agenda. Among other things, the new swimming pool in Falun will be ready this autumn and Malung-Sälen municipality has recently decided to start construction of a swimming pool in the municipality.
