Sweden and Poland are deepening defense cooperation, among other things to build up the ability to withstand new threats to critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.
For two days, Nordic and Baltic prime ministers have met at Harpsund together with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. Much has been about the tense security policy situation and continued support for Ukraine.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and Donald Tusk signed a new strategic cooperation agreement. The emphasis is on economics and security policy.
Among other things, Sweden and Poland will work to counter Russia’s aggressive actions in the immediate area. The agreement also states that one must focus on building up the ability to withstand new types of threats to, for example, critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.
