The police have cordoned off an area in central Örebro after a suspicious object was found. The national bomb shelter is engaged.

The police are on the scene with a number of units.
– We are on site and are setting up a fairly extensive cordon in central Örebro, says Lars Hedelin.

– We are in contact and share information from the location. Then an assessment is made as to whether they should go to the location or not, says Hedelin.
Residents within the cordoned off area must be evacuated from the site, TT reports.
The weekend’s other suspicious objects in Örebro
Last Saturday, another suspicious object was found in a stairwell in Sörbyängen in Örebro. The incident was initially classified as preparation for general destruction.
On Sunday morning, however, the classification was changed to illegal threats as the object did not contain explosives.
A total of three stairwells had to be evacuated before police bomb experts could deal with the object at eight o’clock on Saturday evening.
Police are on site during the day for safety-creating measures.
