Co-op survival action RPG Enshrouded is scheduled to enter Early Access this year on Steam. To prepare for the upcoming release, the Keen Games development team presents the most important gameplay mechanics in the trailer. The current video focuses on everything related to PC game combat.
In Enshrouded there are different types of weapons used in combat. So you can adapt the combat to your favorite playstyle. The following types of weapons will be available, among others:
These are just a few examples presented in the trailer. The heavy weapons like axes and hammers play a bit slower, but deal more damage. The staves and wands can use elemental attacks and consume the player’s mana.
The bow can be equipped with different types of arrows and is better suited for long-distance combat. It’s the same with the bombs, because they should detonate far away rather than right next to you.

Are there any defense options? Players can also carry a shield that they can use to block. However, this takes some perseverance. Once it’s used up, blocking is no longer possible.
Alternatively, you can parry enemy attacks. This introduces the possibility of a “merciless” attack that deals slightly more damage than regular.
Incidentally, the weapons can either be manufactured as a basic weapon by NPCs or found in chests as a legendary weapon. Legendary weapons even have bonuses that can be unlocked by upgrading them.

What can I do if I prefer to attack from ambush? If you’re not the “hit it” type, you can engage in combat in stealth mode. Just sneak up on enemies and kill them from ambush.
Alternatively, like in Minecraft or Fortnite, it’s possible to destroy the world with a pickaxe. So you can make your way through the underground or steer towards enemies from above before you finish them off.
Speaking of from above: There is even a glider with which you can soar through the air like a flying squirrel. This way, you can lunge at enemies unseen.

Cooking meals and crafting potions are extremely important to be as prepared as possible for battle. This gives you various advantages in battle.
You also get experience points after a fight, which can lead to a level up. Before the next fight, you should therefore distribute your available skill points in the skill tree as best as possible. Active and passive skills are waiting for you there.
The skill tree has different categories in which you can distribute your points as you like and adapt them to your individual play style. As a result, Enshrouded gives you more freedom than other games in the genre.
