An upcoming survival MMO on Steam stars Will Smith as a legendary survivor teaching players how to survive in the post-apocalyptic world.
What kind of game is this? Undawn (Mobile, PC) is a survival MMO being developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studios – a developer studio belonging to the Chinese company Tencent.
You slip into the role of one of the last survivors of a zombie apocalypse and join the so-called “Raven Squad”.
As is typical for a survival game, your goal is to survive. You collect supplies and weapons, get vehicles and fight zombies and other players.
How do you want to redefine the genre? As early as 2021, the developers announced that they would create “a new kind of action game” with Undawn. They want to mix the freedom of an open world with RPG elements and thus “redefine the genre.”
How exactly these elements are mixed in order to redefine the genre is not yet known.
What is it with Will Smith? Undawn has released a new cinematic trailer also starring Hollywood actor Will Smith.
Will Smith is known for films such as “Men in Black”, “Hancock” and “Independence Day”, among others. But especially the setting of “I am Legend” is reminiscent of the survival MMO.
In Undawn, Will Smith takes on the role of “Trey Jones” who, according to the video description, prepares players for their journey and survival in the post-apocalyptic world.
