As of today, players can fight for survival in Once Human on Steam. As the development team revealed, there will be separate seasons for the survival title. However, this means that players will lose some of their progress.
What is Once Human? The survival game Once Human launched today on Steam. After the survival flop The Day Before, it became the hope of many players because it has promising features:
Players have mobile bases that can be attacked by wild creatures. This can be used to your advantage on PvP servers to weaken opponents. Alternatively, players can help each other build a shared base. If you are not a fan of humans, there are also creatures that can help you both with building and in battle.

Seasons destroy your progress in Once Human, but not completely
What’s the deal with the seasons? The development team behind Once Human will release new seasons at regular intervals. Each season will have its own length and story.
After each season, there will be a reset. Most of the items you have collected in the season will end up in “Eternaland”. This is your personal domain where you can let your creativity run wild.
Some of the items will remain in your possession even after the season. These include:
On the other hand, raw materials, weapons and similar items are shipped to Eternaland. You can then use these items to build your private base. There will be many more options here to design your own home as you wish. You will also be able to invite friends to visit your cozy home.
Each season will be divided into different phases. At the end of each season, each player can decide whether they want to start the same season over again or start a new one.
Why do the seasons exist? The development team wants to ensure that Once Human is fairer and more relaxed. New players may have a hard time competing against veterans with an expanded base and stronger equipment.
On top of that, every wipe should be seen as a fresh start. This should eliminate mistakes that players regret. After a season, they can start fresh and learn from their previous mistakes.
Another plus point is that friends who have different levels of game progress can play together again with each new season.
