New success for Sara Hector at the World Cup – shared second in the giant slalom

Sara Hector continues to impress on the slopes. On Tuesday, the 31-year-old took another podium place, when she finished tied for second in the Kronplatz giant slalom.

The Swede was third before the second run, 68 hundredths behind the leadere Lara Gut-BehramiSwitzerland, but with only nine hundredths up to the New Zealand one Alice Robinson.

For Gut-Behrami there was nothing to do, the Swiss was superior and won by a margin of over a second. But by picking up just nine hundredths on Robinson in the second run, Hector climbed into second place – a position she shared with the New Zealander.

Sarah Hector has had a rising form curve during the winter and is now up to four podium places in the World Cup. She won the previous giant slalom, in Slovakia’s Jasna ten days ago, in superior style, and a few days earlier she also took her first podium in her career in slalom.
