It was reported that the sub-variant BA.2 (BA.2.75.2) (Centaurus) of the Omicron variant of Kovid-19 was encountered for the first time in Greece.
According to the statement made by the National Public Health Agency of Greece (EODY), a total of 33 thousand 590 new cases were detected in the country during the week of September 5-11.
Thus, the number of cases seen since the beginning of the epidemic increased to 4 million 838 thousand 811.
In the same week, the number of people who lost their lives due to Kovid-19 was 129. Since the beginning of the epidemic, the number of people who lost their lives due to Kovid-19 has reached 32,894.
On the other hand, a BA.2 (BA.2.75.2) case was found in the examination carried out on 664 samples between 22 July and 4 September. (AA)
