The government wants all authorities to be able to share information with each other as a way to stop the criminal gangs.
An investigation is now being added with the task of demolishing unnecessary barriers to confidentiality.
– Secrecy is systematically in the way, says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).
The investigation the government is now appointing is the third step in tearing down unnecessary confidentiality barriers between authorities. It will take a broader approach to the issue of opportunities for information exchange than the investigation that is already underway and will soon complete its mission.
The mission now includes the exchange of information between all types of authorities, and not just with law enforcement agencies.
For example, the Swedish Customs and Border Protection Agency could share information.
The aim is for information to be exchanged so that the authorities can prevent, detect and intervene against fraud, incorrect payments and crime more effectively.
– We will go to great lengths to get at the criminal gangs, says Kristersson.
