New snowstorm thunders in – SMHI warns: “Several decimetres may come”

SMHI warns again of snowfall in combination with wind in large parts of Svealand and northern Götaland. It can cause it in traffic. – It could be several decimetres, says TV4’s meteorologist Elisabeth Danielsson. A yellow snow warning is issued from Monday morning and for most of Monday. It applies to northern Götaland and almost all of Svealand with an area from Stockholm and Uppsala county in the east, over Dalarna and northernmost Värmland in the west. In the east, between 5 and 15 centimeters is expected. The temperature will be around zero with wet snow and also increasing wind which can cause problems in traffic. Changing to rain The warning in the Stockholm area and up towards Uppsala is issued from 12 o’clock on Monday. The precipitation area enters from the southwest and moves over Götaland but, except in the north, in the form of rain. It moves north but is then not as strong. On the night of Tuesday, the snowfall is expected to decrease, according to SMHI. On Tuesday, milder air will move in, causing the precipitation to change to rain. In the west, slightly more snow will arrive according to the forecast, 10–15 centimeters. Locally in northernmost Värmland and in parts of Dalarna up to 20 centimeters can fall. There, the warning also extends until early Tuesday morning. The weather ahead of the week will then become unsettled across the country with milder temperatures on Tuesday which will drop again on Wednesday with more snow or rain.
