New shooter on Steam is the better Battlefield, promises content fans of the original have been waiting for for 1.5 years

A new shooter on Steam is currently thrilling thousands of players. Now the developers have talked about their plans for the future.

What kind of game is this? BattleBit Remastered is a first-person shooter where up to 254 players compete in various PvP modes. The game principle is reminiscent of the popular Battlefield game series: There are chaotic battles with lots of players who fight either on foot or in different vehicles.

The special thing about BattleBit is that the shooter, which costs just under €15, is visually reminiscent of a Lego Battlefield and has already inspired tens of thousands of players in play tests.

The shooter now has over 35,000 player reviews and is doing really well on Steam. A strong 91% of all reviews are positive. On top of that, BattleBit had an average of 45,000 players on Steam in the release month of June and reached a maximum of 86,636 concurrently active players (via Steamcharts).

Developers reveal future plans

What does the shooter get that Battlefield fans have been asking for for 1.5 years? In a July 1st report, BattleBit’s developers gave a sneak peek at what content they plan to bring to the shooter in the future.

Planned content also includes community-driven servers with special game modes, maps, and rules customizable by admins. With the introduction of community servers, players can rent their own servers and then decide for themselves which modes and maps are to be played with which rules.

In addition, a so-called server browser allows players to choose a server that offers rules, maps and modes according to their preferences.

Such a server browser is absent from Battlefield 2042, the latest installment in the popular franchise, although this has been a popular feature in past Battlefield offshoots. Not surprisingly, numerous Battlefield fans have been wanting a server browser for 2042 for months now (via Reddit).

What other new content is the shooter planning? In addition to planning a server browser, the developers spoke of other content that BattleBit Remastered should receive in the future.
