New shooter mixes Warframe and Destiny, now shows 17 minutes of gameplay

The First Descendant is a new loot shooter that plays in a sci-fi setting like Warframe or Destiny and is generally reminiscent of a child of the two games. A video with 17 minutes of gameplay has now been released. We also know that the next beta will start in September.

What kind of game is this? In the shooter you can choose from at least 11 different characters, the so-called descendants. Each of them has its own appearance and abilities. You can then fight against aliens with this character:

  • You can choose from various firearms and use powerful skills. The weapons can also be modified.
  • You can play either alone or in co-op with up to 4 players.
  • There is story content, raids and boss fights at different levels of difficulty.
  • You can move with a grappling hook.
  • Collecting loot, materials and new equipment plays an important role.
  • The game relies on the third-person perspective.

    • It is supposed to be a Free2Play game and comes from the Korean developer Nexon. The release is scheduled to take place on Steam, PS4 and PS5 as well as Xbox One and Series X/S.

    Beta starts on September 19th

    When is the beta? The First Descendant open beta starts on September 19th and runs until September 25th. It will take place on all platforms simultaneously and even offer crossplay. Nexon already announced this at gamescom 2023.

    It has now been revealed that 11 characters, 3 fields to fight and over 50 different weapons will be used in the beta.

    How can you participate in the beta? If you want to participate in the beta, you can register on the game’s official website. There you then select your platform and enter your email address.

    As a PC player, you will be redirected to The First Descendant’s Steam page to request beta access.

    When will the release take place? There is no official release date yet. A release for 2024 is considered likely.
