In gaming, well-known titles and classics are often used by developers as inspiration for their own games. It’s either the graphics, the setting, or the way the story is told. Destiny 2 is also often used as a source of inspiration, but a studio may have been too motivated.
Which game do you mean? The title that has gotten really carried away is Luna Abyss, and it’s set to be released for PS5, Xbox One, Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s a spooky single-player first-person shooter. In this one, you play a prisoner sentenced to explore an abandoned artificial moon that holds much hidden within.
The developers are Bonsai Collective, a fairly fresh team formed in 2019. Luna Abyss is her first title.
So that you can see for yourself how much Luna Abyss has been inspired, we include a trailer of the shooter here:
Destiny streamers are impressed: Aztecross, a longtime Destiny streamer, took notice of the game and he can’t help but compare it to Bungie’s loot shooter.
A red traveler, Vex portals and even Nessus are included
What does Aztecross say about Luna Abyss? Aztecross watched the Luna Abyss trailer and couldn’t help but smile and shake his head. The streamer draws various comparisons with components from Destiny 2:
While Aztecross himself can’t categorize the game yet, he still finds it very interesting. The first-person shooter is rather spooky compared to Destiny 2, with interesting environments and a red traveler, according to the streamer. He definitely thinks it’s cool and will probably check it out himself.
Luna Abyss – A spooky and mysterious shooter
What is Luna Abyss about? In Bonsai Collectiv’s FPS you play as a prisoner who, as already mentioned, has been sentenced to explore an artificial moon. However, the moon is not barren and empty, but has huge monuments and abandoned ruins inside.
The interior of the moon is called “Abyss” and your task is to penetrate it, recover a lost technology and find a lost colony. Note, however, that you will always be monitored by a prison guard named “Aylin”.
Now, as you venture into the interior of the moon, you will experience eerie echoes haunting the celestial body’s ruins. These tell you the horrible fate of the moon.
You explore the world with your feet by running, jumping or even rushing. Enemies like cursed souls and strange creatures will come your way, so there are all kinds of weapons that you can use as a defense during your travels.
When will Luna Abyss be released? No release date has been announced yet. However, according to the PlayStation Store, the shooter will be out “soon”. So it could be that Luna Abyss will appear in the coming months.
Can I pre-order Luna Abyss yet? No, the title is not available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store, Steam or PlayStation. It’s also not known if the single-player shooter will even offer a pre-order.
