Jonna Sundling is still missing from the Swedish squad for this weekend’s World Cup competitions in Trondheim.
The ski star has missed the last two competition weekends after previously testing positive for covid-19.
“Unfortunately, Jonna Sundling is not fully recovered from the covid disease and is therefore also over this weekend, but we hope she can be back for the competitions after Christmas,” says the national team manager Anders Byström in a press release from the Swedish Skiing Association.

In the squad, however, is Johanna Hagström who is back after previous illness.
“We have selected a squad where, among others, Johanna Hagström is back after illness. Several of the riders who did both personal bests and strong performances in Östersund get the chance in the World Cup team in Trondheim,” says Byström.
One that doesn’t get the chance, however, is the talent Alvar Myhlback. The 17-year-old participated in Gällivare and Östersund, but only finished in 60th place in Sunday’s race over ten kilometers.
Missing on the men’s side also do Marcus Grate who strained his groin during the weekend’s sprint competition. World Cup competitions in Trondheim are decided in sprint, skiathlon and classic style.
