Just a few weeks ago, the casting for the hotly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel took place A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms announced. Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will play the roles of the young knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg.
Now we have received further news from Westeros: Not only was this… Episode count of the fantasy series released. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also has his maybe important creative driving force occupied. In addition, the series title (previously: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight) has said goodbye to The Hedge Knight and is now much shorter and easier to read.

As the Hollywood Reporter reports, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will feature only 6 episodes attend. The first seasons of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon each started with 10 episodes, while the main series scaled back to a similar number of episodes in its final seasons (which was harshly criticized by many fans). The second season of House of the Dragon will also be reduced in size in a few weeks, but will still contain 8 episodes.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms adapts George RR Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight, which only contains around 160 pages, so the smaller number of episodes is not entirely unreasonable. However, if we remember the complex worldbuilding of the fantasy franchise, which took up several episodes each in Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, 6 episodes still seem paltry here.

When is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms coming?
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is supposed to 2025 start on HBO. Since the Game of Thrones series celebrated their premiere on Sky and WOW in this country, it can be assumed that the latest spin-off will also await us there.
Before that, fantasy fans can look forward to the start of the second season of House of the Dragon. The first episode is scheduled to take place on the night of 16. on the June 17, 2024 run on Sky and WOW.
