New series goes into one of the biggest TV genres

Netflix has been producing a lot of original series for over 10 years. It’s all the more astonishing that the streamer hasn’t produced a real hospital series in all this time. The series Grey’s Anatomy, which starts its 20th season this month, is the best proof that the genre is still very popular.

Not only the medical and romantic emergencies at Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital, but also series such as The Good Doctor, Atlanta Medical and New Amsterdam have thrilled audiences in recent years. Now Netflix also wants a piece of the pie.

With Pulse, Netflix is emulating the hospital series Grey’s Anatomy

The streamer gave its first ever with Pulse Procedural Hospital Series commissioned – i.e. a series format that is structured like classic US network television according to the case-of-the-week principle. As in Grey’s Anatomy, the focus here is on the dramatic everyday life in a modern level I trauma center, but in Miami and not in Seattle.
