Sales for Resident Evil 4 Remake continue to progress and we learned today that the title has crossed the threshold of 7 million sales achieved in a short year. This is a record for Capcom, which was already delighted with the performance of the Resident Evil 2 remake at the time and its 5 million copies sold over the same marketing period, i.e. in 12 months. Enough to encourage publishers to increase the number of remakes, since the public is also there. We also recall that according to Christophe Gans who confided in us during our interview in June 2022 that it was the success of the Resident Evil remakes in 2019 and 2020 that pushed Konami to relaunch the Silent Hill saga and offer both remakes and new episodes. In any case, if everyone is there, publishers, studios and players alike, it’s win-win as marketing experts would say.
