The new regulations were decided back in 2019 and several tire dealers have since sold tires with the label, a snowflake inside a mountain with three peaks, for several years.
Between December 1 and March 31, all cars in Sweden must have winter tires if there are winter road conditions. The winter tires can be studded or studless.
Studded tires may be used between October 1 and April 15, but may also be used at other times if there are or are expected to be winter road conditions.
