The Thaumaturge is a new role-playing game on Steam that wants to score points with a dark concept. Almost 7 minutes of gameplay can now be seen in a new trailer and these are already convincing players to buy the game on the first day.
What kind of game is this? The Thaumaturge is a new role-playing game scheduled to release on Steam on February 20, 2024. It will also appear on the Playstation 5 and Xbox. It is being developed by 11 bit Studios, which is currently also working on Frostpunk 2.
The latest trailer follows Wiktor on a quest and shows how he can use his skills in exploration and combat:
What does the trailer inspire? The trailer follows one of the possible quests in just under 7 minutes of gameplay. You can see, among other things, the exploration of the world, dialogues with NPCs and combat gameplay.
Players seem pretty impressed with all the gameplay on display. So several people write in their comments (via YouTube) similar to “GodSpeed9289” that it will definitely be a day one purchase.
User “ordinaryfiver4403” even goes one better and writes that he will not only buy the game on the first day, but that it will also be one of his favorite games. He decided to do this after the beta.
Players are already believing in a new role-playing hit
Right from the beginning of the trailer you are shown the combat system, which is turn-based and relies on a special, dark concept. In battle, you not only use your own attacks or weaken the opponent’s focus with special skills, but you also use the various demons that you can obtain over the course of the game.
These have various abilities that you can use in battle. For example, the demon Bukavac becomes stronger the weaker your opponents become and can therefore carry out increasingly brutal attacks.
As you explore the world, you use Wiktor’s abilities to find hidden things and read the emotions associated with them. This could become important for you as the quests progress.
With the interesting concept and the dark world created for the game, players were definitely convinced at this point. For example, “xdmeister8406” writes in his comment: “Man, I wish 11 bit would develop every video game…”. And “mxjokereh” also expects a lot from the game and writes: “I think the developers don’t know that this game will destroy everything else when it’s released.”
In an earlier trailer, The Thaumaturge was compared to Baldur’s Gate 3. But another game can also be compared with the popular game: New role-playing game on Steam is like Baldur’s Gate 3 – but you can ride dinosaurs as magical cowboys
