In a new role-playing game on Steam, you take on the role of Robin Hood and build a village in the forests of Sherwood.
What kind of game is this? Robin Hood – Sherwood Builder (PC) is an upcoming action-adventure role-playing game that relies on base-building elements and lets you fight as the legendary hero Robin Hood against the infamous Sheriff of Nottingham.
The title is being developed by the Polish studio MeanAstronauts, which is aiming for a release on February 29, 2024 on Steam.
Role-playing game with crafting elements
What characterizes the gameplay of the game? In the game you take on the role of the eponymous hero and experience his story. You build a community of rebels and refugees and help them survive in the forests of Sherwood.
In order to tell the story as immersively as possible, the title relies on role-playing mechanics and gives you various quests as well as a skill tree with special attacks.
But Robin Hood’s fighting skills are not enough to survive in the forests of Sherwood. You also have to practice crafting and craft items and weapons, build houses and production facilities for your village, and hunt for food for yourself and your supporters.

So that you can let off steam in the forests and craft, hunt and build houses to a reasonable extent, Robin Hood – Sherwood Builder offers an open world that represents the area around Nottingham including villages, ruins and underground tunnels.
However, your task will not only be to hunt for your village and carry the sole weapon. You also have to train the members of your community to become craftsmen, hunters or guards.
What does the trailer show? The trailer for Robin Hood – Sherwood Builder gives a few impressions of what awaits you in the role-playing game. In addition to some close combat sequences including decapitation of opponents, we can take a first look at building houses and the skill tree.
Of course, we also see Robin Hood using a bow and arrow and killing both animals and hostile people.
During the course of the game you will also meet legendary characters from the “Robin Hood” stories, including Lady Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck, Allan-a-Dale and Will Scarlet.
Some of these well-known characters can also appear in the co-op game Gangs of Sherwood, which will be released in 2023, and you can even play there. However, the co-op title was not well received by players and only has 42% positive user reviews.
