New Resident Evil series definitely doesnt make a fan wish

It’s not like Resident Evil was long gone. The cinema reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City only came out at the end of last year, but not a lot of people wanted to see it. A few months later, Netflix followed up with the Resident Evil series, for which the first longer trailer has been published. Fans of the games should be prepared for at least one disappointment.

The Resident Evil series on Netflix puts the whole world in jeopardy

Anyone who was looking forward to zombie horror in a confined space should lower their expectations. Based on the trailer, the upcoming Netflix series sees the T-Virus as a global threat. This definitely doesn’t make a fan dream come true: a Resident Evil live-action series in which the outbreak of the T-Virus is confined to a small area – similar to the games.

The Netflix production seems to be further away from the template than the cinema film, which had promised a return to the roots. However, plenty of zombie horror with creatively disfigured monsters should still be coming our way.

Horror at Netflix: When will Resident Evil start in Germany?

Resident Evil is coming July 14, 2022 on Netflix. The series initially consists of 8 episodes.

Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels) plays the heroine Jade Wesker, who lives in New Raccoon City, South Africa in the year 2036. Fourteen years after the zombie apocalypse began, she must confront her past and her relationship with Umbrella’s Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick). Resident Evil is produced by Andrew Dabb, who previously worked on Supernatural and Grendel.
