The trial against the physical education teacher in his 50s ended last week. He is accused of gross child pornography, sexual harassment and offensive photography against a total of over 100 girls at a prestigious school in central Sweden. According to the indictment, the man admits to the acts, but denies any crime.
The crimes the man is suspected of must have occurred between 2019 and 2022. But SVT Nyheter was able to reveal last week that children and colleagues at other schools have raised the alarm about the man for over ten years.
New registrations
Recently, the police have drawn up two new reports of serious child pornography offenses against the man.
“As far as ongoing reports are concerned, we cannot release information about them, we refer to preliminary investigation confidentiality,” writes chamber prosecutor Johanna Strid in an email response.
But according to SVT’s information, one of the reports concerns events that must have occurred in Haninge municipality between 2014 and 2016. The police in Haninge received the report on their desk after SVT’s review.
During the period covered by the report, the physical education teacher worked at a school in the municipality, but was bought out after accusations of filming under a girl’s dress.
“Significance for the penalty value”
Sven-Erik Alhem, chairman of the Crime Victims’ Help Desk and former chief prosecutor, believes that it is important to also go back in time and investigate possible crimes.
– Every crime victim has a legitimate interest in having the crime investigated. It also has great significance for the penalty value if there are many crimes and for his further progress within the school world, he says.
