The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TITCK), affiliated with the Ministry of Health, is making a new regulation regarding the promotional activities of human medicinal products and foods for special medical purposes.
According to the draft study, the products that can currently be promoted and distributed to physicians, dentists and pharmacists will also be available to dietitians, provided that they are limited to foods for special medical purposes. Visits to these professional groups can now be made electronically.
Product promotion representatives will not be able to promote any product or similar to healthcare professionals other than these professional groups, nor will they be able to provide promotional material or promotional material.
Product promotions will not contain misleading, exaggerated or unproven information that may unnecessarily encourage product use or cause unexpected risky situations. Expressions and images that are attractive and not directly related to the product itself will not be used. Famous people cannot be used in promotions and healthcare professionals cannot take part in promotions without permission. (Türkiye Newspaper)
