New record from Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldurs Gate 3 level cap increased to 12

Baldur’s Gate 3 is breaking records with the number of simultaneous players on Steam. The game was among the top 10 games on Steam based on the highest number of simultaneous players.

Baldur’s Gate 3 reached a new milestone on the Steam platform, breaking the record for concurrent player count in the second week. Baldur’s Gate 3, which was released with its full version on August 3, surprised everyone by being among the top 10 games on Steam according to the highest number of simultaneous players. A week later, Baldur’s Gate 3 further fueled its stunning success.

Baldur’s Gate 3 puts on an impressive performance

Baldur’s Gate 3 once again had an impressive performance last weekend. On Sunday, August 13, Baldur’s Gate 3’s concurrent player count reached 875,343 people. That’s around 60,000 additional simultaneous players, or an increase of more than 7%. It’s a rare and impressive feat for a mostly single-player RPG like Baldur’s Gate 3 to be able to sustain and even increase such a high number of concurrent players.

Unfortunately, the increase in concurrent players wasn’t enough to push Baldur’s Gate 3 up on Steam’s top 10 games list. Baldur’s Gate 3’s new achievement sits just below Hogwarts Legacy’s peak of 879,308 concurrent players and is slightly behind New World at 913,634. It is likely that Baldur’s Gate 3 will remain in the 9th place unless there is unexpected and unprecedented growth.

Baldur’s Gate 3 community plans

It was hoped that Baldur’s Gate 3 would reach a larger number within the gaming community. Some have even tried to organize an effort to try to play simultaneously to increase the number of simultaneous players to one million. While the community may not reach that number, Baldur’s Gate 3 should be pretty happy with its success.

Larian Studios is delighted with the success of Baldur’s Gate 3. The development team wasn’t sure if Baldur’s Gate 3 had peaked in early access and said its incredible popularity was unprecedented. CEO Swen Vinke says the developers at Larian are very happy.
