With an approximate length of 350 meters, the newly opened museum spreads out well following the tracks in central Oxelösund. On June 4, it was opened and has become a reality thanks to countless non-profit working hours from the members of FSVJ, the Association of Sörmland’s veteran railways.
The museum’s content revolves around the TGOJ trains, which for many years had a prominent role in the railway network.
Financial support from the EU fund Leader and the National Antiquities Office has made the extension of tracks and a large carriage hall possible. As a test, the museum has been open on Sundays during the summer and a total of about 500 visitors have found their way to the museum.
– Our goal is to be able to be open more during next summer, says FSVJ chairman Kai Tamminen.
