Quidditch Champions was announced back in April 2023, but the public shouldn’t see much of the game yet. However, the second gameplay leak is now online and shows a complete match.
Quidditch is a fast-paced broomstick sport set in the Harry Potter fantasy universe. Players chase different balls on flying brooms – always with the aim of throwing the big quaffle into the goals or finding the small, golden snitch that ends the match directly.
The rights holders at Warner Brothers have been working on a game to replace Harry Potter football for several years. However, there is no release date yet. But there were several tests and play sessions, which were obviously held under a non-disclosure agreement.
Now the gameplay of an entire match has been leaked. Here you will find the links to the videos as well as explanations of what can be seen specifically.
The Harry Potter universe already landed a hit with Hogwarts Legacy in 2023. Quidditch was a topic there but not played:
Where can you see the videos? The videos can currently be seen on the InsiderGaming leak page:
But keep in mind: These are leaks. Things change over the course of development and the gameplay in the Quidditch Champions videos was not intended for the public. The game can end up looking very different.
Incidentally, the colleagues at GameStar reported on the last leak (via gamestar.de).
What do the videos show? You can see:
When choosing your own character, you can also take a look at the possible player roles. The well-known roles are represented here:
When the game starts, however, it becomes clear that Quidditch Champions differs from the original rules of the fantasy series: Only 5 players start a match, actually there are 7. During the match, however, many familiar elements can be seen, albeit partially somewhat simplified.
This is how you steal the ball from opponents when you bump into them. There are also alternatives. A boost bar provides extra speed. This can be recharged by capturing a pass or by following displayed routes.
The match ends when time runs out or until one player catches the golden snitch. Apparently, this does not guarantee victory directly, but only gives 30 points instead of the usual 150, which would be enough to win.

What else is there to know? The Quidditch Champions website already has an FAQ on important questions, which is still quite patchy (via quidditchchampions.com).
There is no release date, nor is it clear on which platforms the game will appear. The PC is confirmed, consoles should follow – or not. It is also a multiplayer game.
