The hospital group announced psychiatrist Dr. Gbola Otun, who brings years of education, specialized training, and experience has joined the medical team.

“We are happy to welcome Dr. Otun to CKHA, where he will be a valued addition to our hospital,” said Dr. Zeke Milkovic, acting chief of staff at CKHA.

“His experience and commitment to patient care make him an important addition to our team and community.”

Otun studied at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in Nigeria, where he completed his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery, the health alliance said.

In 2006, he earned a certificate of completion of training as an adult general psychiatrist with a sub-specialization in substance misuse psychiatry.

After years of service as a psychiatrist in England, Otun has chosen Chatham-Kent as his home and place to practice, the health alliance said. He is passionate about teaching and is eager to mentor future doctors in their medical training.

“I am excited to join the CKHA team,” said Otun in the release. “Chatham is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and offers me the opportunity to engage in various forms of outdoor sports.

“I am eagerly looking forward to my first RetroFest and to helping the local population by providing excellent care.”

The health alliance announced this year the arrival of another psychiatrist, a pediatrician, obstetrician/gynecologist, anesthetist and doctors who treat patients admitted to hospital.
