After several wolf attacks on sheep on Söderåsen in Skåne, protective hunting is again relevant.

The wolf attack is the fifth in a short time – and after two ewes have now been killed, a new decision on protective hunting has been made, the County Administrative Board states.

As early as April 10, a decision was made, but now the protection hunt covers a larger area.

“We suspect that this attack has also been carried out by the individual who has carried out at least 15 attacks in southern Sweden since September last fall,” says David Börjesson, who is a wildlife officer at the county board in a press release.

The Scanian wolf tribe is growing rapidly. The first pair of wolves was discovered in 2021. Currently, Skåne has three territories, perhaps four soon.
