Bill and Tom Kaulitz are absolute megastars in Germany. They became famous as Tokio Hotel musicians – in recent years they have been seen as popular celebrity guests on TV. A new ProSieben show should be their next big hit – but unfortunately the project flopped on day 1. The reason: The show is aimed at children, but was shown at completely the wrong time. We have the whole story.
New ProSieben show is a total flop: It’s over after one episode
This end came surprisingly quickly: Only on Tuesday evening, September 17, did ProSieben’s new show start: The Superduper Show promised fun for the whole family. It also attracted absolute megastars: Tokio Hotel favorites Bill and Tom Kaulitz were the prominent faces of the format. However, as DWDL reports, the show flopped with TV audiences despite its star power. The Superduper Show was only able to secure a 5.7 percent market share at its grand opening – a catastrophic figure for a full-length show in prime time. ProSieben promptly took action – the show was canceled after just one episode. The twins looked so happy in the promo:

ProSieben press spokesman Christoph Körfer speaks openly to DWDL about the failure of the new Kaulitz project: “Unfortunately, the Superduper Show did not find its audience on Tuesday evening. That’s why we’re taking the show off the program.” However, the broadcaster has not completely given up hope: “However, we still believe in the show’s potential and will bring it back in 2025 in a time slot that makes it easier for families to watch the show.” The program gap that has been created will be filled by films – which ones exactly remains to be seen.
Despite Kaulitz’s star power: Fans feel like they’re in the wrong movie
The Superduper Show seemed like a typical game show for children’s television – mixed with a little pinch of Hollywood glamour. But why is a show that seems to be aimed primarily at children on prime time during the week? When Bill and Tom Kaulitz are confronted with children’s show ideas on TV, many are reminded of SuperRTL and KIKA – entertainment for adults looks different too.
Fans let out their anger under a promotional post from ProSieben. They only tuned in because of the Kaulitz twins, but even the music stars couldn’t save the boring show. One user writes her anger off her chest: “I’m a huge fan of both of them now, but the show is really boring… it couldn’t be more boring, who wants to watch shows by children?”
One user even had to switch off: “Well, you guys are really sweet. BUT… the show is just… I switched.” Many TV viewers found the aspect that it was primarily about children particularly disturbing: “Nothing against the kids, but the shows weren’t that great. Sometimes they were really boring and there was no trace of excitement.” Ouch, even the Kaulitz twins make mistakes sometimes.
