New pro-Palestinian demonstration against SD when Jimmie Åkesson gave an election speech in Karlstad

The EU election meeting at Stora Torget included speeches by both SD leader Jimmie Åkesson and Värmland EU parliamentarian Charlie Weimers.

After TV4’s review of SD’s anonymous social media accounts and Expressen’s revelation that employees at the chancellery spread Russian propaganda, there has been less of that stuff, election meetings, and more talking about scandals with the media.

– That kind of publication is damaging, and not least, it takes the focus away from actual politics.

Three-week election tour

Jimmie Åkesson has been out on a three-week electoral tour. Today’s only stop was Karlstad after a short break at home in Sölvesborg after an election meeting in Helsingborg on Tuesday evening. A rally that was stopped for about 20 minutes by pro-Palestinian protesters.

– It has been quite calm, compared to what you are used to. But now we are approaching election day, and the temperature is rising even on the side that has difficulty respecting the democratic rules of the game.

Met by protesters

Even at tonight’s SD meeting, the party leader was met by pro-Palestinian protests. About 30 demonstrators were shown away from the square and had to hold their demonstration next to Tingvallagymnasiet.

– The counter-demonstrators were rejected from the square and directed up towards the cathedral. They accepted it, everything went smoothly, says Anders Dahlman, press spokesperson for the Bergslagen police region.

There could be legal repercussions for the counter-protesters.

– I don’t know at the moment if a report will be drawn up about an unauthorized gathering. However, everything went smoothly.
