The incident is described by the authorities as a minor collision, where a plane from Korean Air ran into another plane, belonging to Cathay Pacific, one of whose wings was damaged.
The Korean Air aircraft was about to leave its parked position when the plane’s left wing made contact with the plane next to it. That aircraft is said to have been empty at the time. On board the Korean Air aircraft were 289 people.
The authorities state that they will investigate the accident, which occurred during heavy snowfall.
The crash came just two weeks after a collision between two planes at Tokyo’s Haneda airport killed five people aboard a Coast Guard plane. All 379 on board the second aircraft survived the crash and the violent fire that followed.
