New Pirate MMO on Steam shows a boss fight that could also come from Dark Souls

With cross wind, a new pirate MMO will soon appear on Steam. Now the developers in the video show a boss fight that could also come from Dark Souls.

What did the developers show? In a new video on YouTube, the developers showed a boss fight from the new Pirate MMO CrossWind for the first time. The fights in the game are strongly reminiscent of Dark Souls.

The clopping begins with the fact that the player character drains his weapon with a kind of tincture, probably to buff it. Then the pirate goes into the battle. During the fight, the player has to parry the opponent’s attacks and dodge them cleverly so as not to be hit.

While the enemy is busy with the cast, the player takes the opportunity to attack weaknesses with the saber or the pistol. The boss not only has a beam of life, but also 5 shields that can be removed by correct counterattacks and attacks.

If the boss has lost all five shields, it is stunned for a short time so that the player can do a lot of damage. The player’s life points do not regenerate during the fight. However, there are red potions in the HUD, which may be used for healing.

The player also has an endurance indicator that is reduced by attacks and evasive maneuvers.

How much Dark Souls is in cross wind? As a survival pirate MMO, Crosswind has not appeared that it has similarities with Dark Souls. The new video that shows the boss fights in the game changes. Visually and also from the systems, CrossWind is probably based on soulslikes, even if the level of difficulty should obviously be a little lower.

Such a combat system is also exciting for the MMO part of the game. The many systems could result in tactical battles in the multiplayer that have only implemented a few games so far. However, it is not yet possible to say whether cross wind actually becomes a full “Dark Souls” MMO.

Instead, the MMO relies on pirate battles on land and on water as well as an extensive construction system with which its own pirate discard is built. In addition, there will be the genre -typical mechanics such as crafting, hunting and resource mining.

The fact that Crosswind takes over gameplay elements from Dark Souls makes it special and continues to remove it from Skull and Bones, with which it is often compared. However, the comparison is not a bad thing for fans. Many hope that CrossWind will be the MMO that Skull and Bones could have been: New MMO on Steam lets you play saber-rattling pirates, fans mean: “Looks like what Skull and Bones should have been”
