A few days ago, we witnessed a wild car chase from the set of Joker 2: Folie à deux involving multiple versions of the title character. Apparently, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) inspires the people of Gotham City and incites them to commit crimes. Today there are the next pictures from the shoot.

The joker doesn’t play a role this time, though. Instead, we get to see the DC sequel’s other big star: Lady Gaga. In June 2022, the singer and actress was cast in Joker 2. As a villain Harley Quinn she will henceforth make the DC Universe unsafe.

Joker 2: New set pictures show Lady Gaga as Dr. Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn

However, we haven’t seen Gaga in costume yet. In the new set pictures, she moves unassumingly through the hustle and bustle of Gotham’s streets. Todd Phillips’ Joker series eludes the classic images of superhero cinema. Instead, the story becomes one grounded environment told as a serious drama. We can’t wait to see how the complete transformation of Dr. Harleen Quinzel looks like in this unusual corner of the DC Universe.

When will Joker 2 with Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn be in cinemas?

Joker 2: Folie à deux starts on October 3, 2024 in German cinemas. The film is part of the Elsewords universe, which is where all the DC movies and series that aren’t part of the new, tightly-knit DC Universe find themselves. This will replace the DCEU from 2025, in which Margot Robbie has embodied Harley Quinn since 2016.

There are three DC appearances in Robbie’s filmography: Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn (2020) and The Suicide Squad (2021). It’s unclear if we’ll see the actress in the role again. First it’s Lady Gaga’s turn and she can let her interpretation of the villain run free.
