New images on Telegram purportedly show one of the Wagner group’s three new bases in Belarus.
But the paramilitary group’s presence shakes Belarusian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko.
– He trembles with fear at the thought of a military out of his control, says Sakjasjczyk to inews.
Since the Wagner group’s coup attempt during the Midsummer weekend, there has been silence from paramilitary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin. Now, a first audio message since June 26 from Prigozhin has been heard on the Wagner-affiliated Telegram channel Gray Zone.
IN the audio message declares Prigozhin that he soon expects “further successes on the Eastern Front” and that the goal behind the military coup was to “fight traitors and mobilize Russian society.” Something he says in the same audio message that they “succeeded” in.
In this now, it is unclear where the Wagner boss is. At the latest last week, Aleksandr Lukashenko confirmed that he arrived in Belarus after the exile agreement. Since then, flight records show his flight traveled from Belarus to Moscow to Saint Petersburg and back again.
New photos from the alleged Wagner base
According to information to several international media, a Wagner base for 8,000 soldiers is being built on an unused old military facility southeast of the Belarusian capital Minsk.
Satellite images over the area that Sky News published shows the change in the area between 23 and 27 June. About 250 tents with room for thousands of soldiers have been set up at the old military facility.

On the Gray Zone Telegram channel, images have been published during the day that purportedly show one of the three new bases of the Wagner Group that are now under construction.
But at the time of writing there is no evidence of mass movement to the area.
“Lukashenko trembles with fear”
The Wagner group’s alleged presence in Belarus has caused concern. Mainly in the neighboring countries of Lithuania and Poland, as below last week appealed to NATO for additional reinforcements.
– Wagner’s serial killer in Belarus would risk instability in all neighboring countries, said Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda at a press conference last week.
Stoltenberg promised during the same press conference that NATO would “take further steps” towards strengthening the defense of neighboring countries during the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12.
– We will defend every centimeter of NATO territory, Stoltenberg said then.
Now comes information that the concern also exists in the highest echelons of Belarus.
Lukashenko fears the Wagner soldiers
In an interview with british inews military spokesman for the Belarusian opposition leadership Valery Sakyachyk says that Belarusian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko was forced to house Prigozhin as part of the deal. According to Sakyaschik, Lukashenko is afraid of the paramilitary group, which does not directly report to him.
– The negotiation was a perfect opportunity for Lukashenko to present himself as Russia’s savior in times of need. But he trembles with fear at the thought of a military out of his control, says Sakjasjczyk to inews.
In 2020, Lukashenko arrested around thirty Wagner soldiers suspected of terrorism. According to Lukashenko, they must have tried to influence the national election.
– For both Lukashenko and the Belarusian military, the presence of the Wagner group would be extremely undesirable and dangerous, says Sakyaschik.
