The hunt continues after the murder of CEO Brian Thompson.
The police have now released new photos of the suspected perpetrator.
– The noose is being tightened around the shooter, says New York Mayor Eric Adams during Saturday.
US police are still looking for the man who shot dead 50-year-old Brian Thompson, CEO of United Health Care earlier this week. Thompson was shot in the leg and back while on his way to a conference in New York and later died of his injuries.
No perpetrator has yet been arrested despite the murder taking place in the open street.
New pictures of the shooter
The police have now released new images of a suspect, where he can be seen in a black hooded sweatshirt, mask and a black coverall, both inside and outside a taxi. According to reports, these are the last images that captured the man.
Surveillance footage has since been released where the suspected shooter was caught flirting with a female employee at the hostel where he was staying.
The noose is tightened
The hunt for the killer continues intensively. Police believe he first fled on foot and then cycled towards Central Park. The man is then suspected of having left New York by bus.
Eric Adams, mayor of New York, said on Saturday that “the noose is being tightened around the shooter”.
The FBI is offering 50,000 dollars, equivalent to over half a million Swedish kronor, to whoever comes with tips that lead to an arrest.
The case has puzzled many. The police reportedly found three empty shell casings with the words “deny”, “defend” and “depose” at the crime scene. The message is suspected to be linked to a book about US health insurance companies being accused of delaying payments.
