The general view of the market becomes clear in the new table shared by the Automotive Industry Association in October.
Automotive Industry Association, January-October period of production and automotive export numbers and market data announced. When we look at the shared data, we see that the total automotive production in the first 10 months of the year increased by 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 million 76 thousand 865 units. Automobile production, on the other hand, decreased by 0.3 percent to 633 thousand 369 units. Together with the tractor production, the total production amounted to 1 million 116 thousand 583 units. In the January-October period, commercial vehicle production increased by 13 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In this period, while the production in the heavy commercial vehicle group increased by 31 percent, the production in the light commercial vehicle group increased by 11 percent.

Automotive exports increased by 3 percent
In the January-October period, automotive exports increased by 3 percent on unit basis compared to the same period of the previous year, and amounted to 779 thousand 317 units. In this period, automobile exports decreased by 2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 10 percent. Total automotive industry exports, which ranked first with a share of 12.3 percent in October, ranked second in the sectoral exports with a share of 12 percent in the January-October period of 2022.
In the January-October period of 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, sales of imported light commercial vehicles decreased by 11 percent, while domestic light commercial vehicles increased by 8 percent. In this period, the share of domestic vehicles in automobile sales was 38 percent, and the share of domestic vehicles in the light commercial vehicle market was 60 percent.
