In the last few updates, the meta in League of Legends has been shaken up a bit. The focus was primarily on damage, healing and defense, which were either strengthened or weakened. Master Yi, a champion hated by many, suffered from the changes. But that is exactly what should be significantly strengthened with the upcoming patch 12.13.
What is Master Yi’s situation?
But with the upcoming patch 12.13, Master Yi could become a real monster again. Because Riot Games is planning buffs for the champion.
The Star Guardian Event is currently running in LoL. In the trailer you will learn everything important:
Greater attack range and more frequent healing
What changes? With the upcoming update, Master Yi’s attack range will be significantly increased. Previously he could hit enemies at a range of 125, this will now be 175.
The biggest change, however, concerns his Meditate (W) ability:
The changes to Master Yi are already playable on the test server.
When will the changes appear? Patch 12.13 is expected to be released on July 13th. However, adjustments can still be made before the update appears.
Fans fear strong Yi of low-Elo
How are the changes received? Mixed. Many agree that Master Yi needs a buff as his winrate is below 47% in Platinum or higher. In the high Elo he is almost useless.
But the changes to the “W” make some worry. The champion could use it to dominate inexperienced and weak players in the lower ratings, as the new champion Bel’Veth is currently doing. Tower dives in particular should become more and more possible.
What else does the update bring? The new champion Nilah is expected to appear with patch 12.13. This AD carry relies on a whip, dashes, and extra experience points for a last hit. That makes Nilah extremely dangerous.

LoL brings a mobile new heroine with Nilah, but her strengths lie elsewhere – these are her skills
Also, a new game mode – Ultimate Spellbook – will be tested, the mid-scope update for Sivir will be released, and the item Divine Sunderer will get an overhaul.
