New outdoor format sends candidates to the Bundeswehr for 48 hours

Ever since the success of 7 vs. Wild, the outdoor scene on YouTube has been booming. A new format of an ex-candidate is now sending unprepared candidates to the Bundeswehr.

What kind of format is this? The “Bulletproof – The Challenge” format by 7 vs. Wild ex-candidate and outdoor professional Ottogerd “Bulletproof” Karasch sends unprepared people on a course in the Bundeswehr.

In the series you learn that the candidates weren’t really sure what they were getting into. Accordingly, the fitness of the individual candidates varies.

During the 48-hour course at the Bundeswehr, the 15 candidates are divided into 5 teams of 3 and have to complete various challenges together as a team. Depending on the criteria of the tasks, points are awarded and at the end there is also a winning team.

The candidates couldn’t be more different

Who is there? Similar to 7 vs. Wild, the field of participants is diverse. The five teams consist of the following candidates:

  • Team Streamer
  • Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler
  • Niclos “How To Be Human” Stemmler
  • Ronny Berger
  • Team MMA Spirit – consisting of MMA fighters
  • Max Coga
  • Catherine Dalisda
  • Patrick Vespazian
  • Team Slacks – consisting of the freerunning group “Schlappen”
  • Jan “Schlappen” Lange
  • Etienne “Slips”
  • Dwayne “Slaps”
  • Team Ninjafit – consisting of participants in Ninja Warrior competitions
  • Arleen Schuessler
  • Benedict Sigmund
  • Keno Ruest
  • Team YouTube
  • David “Dave” Henrichs
  • Max Pane
  • Aaron Donker – not a YouTuber, but an ex-NFL player
  • Not only the teams, but also the individual candidates have their own strengths and weaknesses that they bring with them to the exercise.

How is the series going? Currently after the first episode, all teams have completed the first challenge. First, the teams were woken up early in the morning, had to get ready quickly and then quickly pack their bags with everything they needed for the next two days. Then it was time for the first challenge.

In the first challenge, the teams had to complete an obstacle course; points were awarded depending on their placement based on the time required. After the exercise, we went straight on to the next challenge – of course we had to walk the distance there with all the luggage. The 48-hour exercise is a so-called continuous exercise in which the candidates hardly get any breaks.

Episode two has already appeared on YouTube, but to avoid spoilers we only refer to episode 1. The latest episode can be viewed in advance on Joyn.

Does Series 7 vs. Wild have any competition? Yes and no. The series works significantly differently than 7 vs. Wild, but there are also parallels. Once again, a mixed field of participants is put into an extreme situation to see how people fare.

The series also uses familiar faces from different areas, similar to 7 vs. Wild. Ex-candidates like Jan Schlappen and Trymacs are also there.

However, the structure of the series is so different that both series can probably coexist without any problems, especially because they appear at different times. Otto Bulletproof, the show’s host, has had problems with 7 vs. Wild founder Fritz Meinecke in the past over a YouTube format.
