A new bug in EA FC 24 is causing a stir. To the dismay of the FIFA community, the game error not only seems unrealistic, but also promises a goal guarantee because it is virtually impossible to defend.
What’s the matter? There are numerous videos circulating online that show a glitch in EA FC 24. In a skill, the player clamps the ball between his lower leg, thigh and back of the knee. But contrary to what was intended, the gaming device literally seems to stick to the leg and cannot be separated from the player.
A user uploaded an excerpt of this bug on Reddit. In this case it hit the FIFA professional “HASHTAG STOKES”.
Playstyle Trickster enables ball bug
How does the Ball Bug work? In the clip you can see how FC Barcelona player Fridolina Rolfö performs a so-called flick skill at the halfway line. The “Catch a Spin” shown here is one of numerous skill moves that can only be performed by players with the so-called trickster playstyle.
The first part of the said “Catch a Spin” consists of clamping the ball between the calf, back of the knee and thigh before maneuvering it forward with a jerky movement.
However, if you cancel the skill move at the right time during the first part of the execution, the ball appears to get stuck in the back of your knee. You can interrupt tricks, but also shots, passes or crosses by pressing all 4 rear R buttons and L buttons on the Playstation or Xbox at the same time.
Normally, when fully executed, the trick looks like the following video:
Why is the skill move unstoppable? In the second part of the video linked above you can see how the player with the ball stuck to her runs through the ranks of the opposing team. The AI of the defending players, which always directs their defensive actions towards the game device, does not seem to be able to deal with the unwanted game error.
As a result, the players’ attempts to tackle the seemingly magnetized ball are futile. Of course, this gives whoever exploits this bug a huge advantage.
This visibly annoys not only the FIFA professional in the video, but also the EA FC 24 Reddit community. You can read the reactions to this new bug below.
We recently reported on another bug that made it almost impossible for some players to take reasonable penalties.
Reddit users stunned by another breakdown
How is the FIFA community reacting to the new OP bug? In the subreddit mentioned above, in which the video served as a hook, users agree that the bug must be removed from the game as quickly as possible.
Top commenter “CuteCatMug” is particularly surprised that people can even discover such errors (via reddit.com).
User “OG-Builds” makes the following statement in his top response to the comment: “Someone posts this bug and 90% of the comments ask how to do it. This community will rather exploit the bug than have fun with the game.” (via reddit.com)
In contrast, user “Sirop-d-arabe” argues that the only way to get bugs out of the game and to fix them is for them to be exploited by the community first (via reddit.com). This takes the bug abusers out of the line of fire.
Probably in view of the increased occurrence of game bugs in EA FC 24, “Horse-Dig” summarizes the state of the game as follows: “We’re playing an open beta that costs €110, right?” (via reddit.com)
So now there is a new bug again. How long this will remain in the game is unclear. But we’ll keep you up to date if there’s anything new to report.
The fact that the prices for the said players with trickster playstyle have not skyrocketed shows us that the community can have fun with the game, even without exploiting bugs.
In addition to the penalty bug mentioned above, career mode was also a bit bumpy. There was a problem with coach firings.
