The patent application filed by Nintendo last year has just surfaced. It could be the new Nintendo Switch controller we see or the Swtich 2 controller.
New Nintendo Switch controller may have been leaked. According to rumors, there may also be a controller for Nintendo Switch 2. The leak comes directly from Nintendo itself. The image is very similar to the prototype controller. It looks like it will likely be for a Switch successor or some other piece of hardware entirely.

Brief of the patent, “A game controller according to the present disclosure includes: a housing and an internal structural body housed within the housing”. “The internal structural body includes at least: an inner frame having a mounting surface and a recess adjacent to the mounting surface; a battery having a first surface inserted into the recess of the inner frame and corresponding to the lower surface of the recess. A second surface on the side opposite the first surface, and an inner frame “A flexible substrate containing a conductive pattern that is mounted on the mounting surface of the frame. The flexible substrate is arranged to cover at least a portion of it and is inserted into the recess on the second surface of the battery.”

The image reminded us of the Nintendo 64 controller at the first stage. Especially since it has an extended battery slot. If there was a joystick in the middle and a few missing keys, it would be almost exactly the same. In N64 this field was used for various features.
If you read the patent, you’ll see that it was filed in 2021, but it wasn’t published until this year. Twitter user SilliTweet5 thanks to it. At the time of publication, Nintendo did not comment on this patent and the speculation it sparked.
