After the Swedish premiere success in Ruka, the World Cup in skiing continues in Lillehammer. Then two Swedish JVM champions from last season get the chance – Evelina Crüsell and Alvar Myhlback.
Now the great talents get Alvar Myhlback and Evelina Crusell make their season debut at the World Cup in cross-country skiing.
“Evelina Crüsell was fifth in the premiere in Bruksvallarna and Alvar Myhlback gets to try the skiathlon on Sunday after even races during the premiere weekend. In the sprint, Anton Grahn comes in and makes his season debut in the World Cup, says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.
Sweden is sending 25 skaters and all the big names are there. Including Johanna Hagström who somewhat surprisingly won the sprint – and Frida Karlsson who outclassed the comebacking Norwegian Therese Johaug of 10 kilometers in a mighty demonstration of strength.
“The first competition weekend in the World Cup gave us a good start with, among other things, victories for Johanna Hagström and Frida Karlsson. Now we have evaluated Ruka and are getting ready for really tough opposition in Lillehammer, where the host country can field twelve riders in each race,” says Anders Byström.
