Kristoffer Olsson, 28, has regained his motor skills and ability to speak. He eats by himself and is practicing walking.
Three months after he collapsed in his home, his condition is steadily improving.
But it is highly uncertain whether the national team midfielder can play football again.
The Swedish international, with roots in Norrköping and one with a career behind him with stops at Arsenal, AIK, Krasnodar and Anderlecht, returned two years ago to Midtjylland for a second stay at the Danish top club.
In Herning hoped Kristoffer Olsson soon to be back in the Danish league game when life took a sudden turn.
Olsson’s health
Olsson had been ill for a few days, but felt on the road to recovery. That’s what Midtjylland’s coach says Thomas Thomasberg for Jyllands-Posten.
– I notice that I am touched when I talk about it, says Thomasberg to the newspaper.

Instead of rejoining training, Kristoffer Olsson collapsed at his home on February 20, lost consciousness, and for a long time doctors with specialized skills struggled to find the reason. It turned out that Olsson suffered from several blood clots in the brain, as a result of an extremely rare inflammation of the brain’s vessels.
He was initially cared for on a ventilator at Aarhus Hospital.

A month ago, Midtjylland announced that Olsson had been phased out of the respirator and moved to a center with a focus on advanced rehabilitation of neurological diseases.
“Having a good life”
His condition has steadily improved, but the step to being able to play football is very long.
According to Midtjylland’s sports director Claus Steinlein it is uncertain whether Kristoffer Olsson can play football again.
– He loves the game so much and it will be his biggest day if he can run into the MCH Arena again. But the most important thing is that he gets a good life. He is engaged in a hard fight that everyone hopes will be successful, says Steinlein in an interview with Jyllands-Posten.
– He is one of our strongest players. He is the heart of the team. We have missed him, says Midtjylland’s goalkeeper Jonas Lössl to the newspaper.
Olsson has been part of Midtjylland since 2022. He has played a total of 124 games for the club and made 47 international appearances.
