MeinMMO gives you an overview of all new online games that will appear in 2023 and are relevant to us. These include co-op games, MMOs and MMORPGs. It doesn’t matter whether these games are released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S or Switch.
Which games can you find in the list? The list only includes games that the developers themselves have announced will be released in 2023. We’ve also included major extensions that are particularly relevant to MMORPGs.
A good mix of MMORPGs and shooters, but a poor year for Survival
MMORPG fans can look forward to very different games in 2023. Throne and Liberty is a new game from publisher NCSoft, who was already responsible for Aion and Blade & Soul. The focus is on action-packed battles, strong graphics, weather events and large PvP battles.
With Blue Protocol we get almost the complete opposite. A cute anime MMORPG with a lot of story, instances in PvE and completely without PvP.
There are also the indie projects Nightingale (Survival), War of Dragnorox (Old School PvE) and Fractured (Iso-MMORPG).
It will also be varied for shooter players. With The Day Before comes a game that is strongly reminiscent of Division 2 and wants to score with graphics. Redfall, on the other hand, will be a colorful co-op shooter similar to Borderlands.
With Super People and Star Wars: Hunters, there are also two arena shooters that are completely different not only in terms of gameplay, but also in terms of platforms. The latter, for example, only appears for Switch and Mobile.
Last but not least, Tom Clancy’s XDefiant and The Division: Heartland are two titles that have already been announced for 2022, but have been rather quiet lately.
For survival players, however, it looks a bit meager. Aside from Nightingale, this year’s main programs are The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria and Sons of the Forest, both of which can also be played solo.
The big highlight of the year will probably be Diablo 4 for many gamers. It will appear on June 6th and will certainly accompany us for months.
These MMORPGs will definitely not appear in 2023
What do you think of the upcoming gaming year? Which titles are you particularly looking forward to? And which game are you looking forward to beyond 2023?
