New MMORPG Throne and Liberty has already over 55,000 players on Steam after 15 minutes in beta

Throne and Liberty is currently the great MMORPG hope for many fans of the genre who are waiting for fresh supplies. Today, July 18th, the open beta started and after just a few minutes it was so full that no one could get in.

This is the beta:

What problems are there right now? The beta went live shortly after 7 p.m. German time. Just 15 minutes later, over 55,000 players had logged in on Steam alone (via SteamDB) – plus players on PlayStation and Xbox.

Since then, there have been reports of disconnects, error messages, or complaints that you can’t create a character. In the Throne and Liberty subreddit, several posts appear every minute from users who can’t get into the game.

On X, many users are also complaining that they can’t play. Some even say they can’t even find the game in the stores on their platform.

Throne and Liberty Beta: Server Issues and Solutions

There is currently no official statement on the problems (as of 7:35 p.m.). The last official tweet on X simply announces the official start of the beta.

There is currently no known solution for the connection errors. However, if you can’t download Throne and Liberty at all, some users on Reddit say: change the region of your store to another one. The game should then appear.

The reactions at the moment are a balance between frustration and indifference. On the one hand, it is annoying not to be able to play – Amazon could have expected an influx of several hundred thousand players for an MMORPG of this size.

Others say that it is a beta after all. It is there to find problems and the servers are one such problem. To prevent something like this from happening at launch, they are playing now. The few who can play, however, say that Throne and Liberty looks great. Here are 5 things you should definitely try out in the beta – if you can get in.
