The sandbox MMORPG Pax Dei is considered promising. With its freedom, open world city building and action combat system, it is eagerly awaited by many MMORPG players. Now a new video about the character editor has been published.
How good is the editor? When creating a character, you first have a large selection of presets that you can then refine. There are around 30 hairstyles, 16 beards and 10 different eye colors to choose from.
You can also use sliders to adjust many settings, from the shape of the body to the intensity of the lip color to the size of the iris. You also only gave a rough scheme for the colors – for example blonde, brown, black, gray and white for the hair. Within this scheme you can choose the perfect color.
Overall, the selection is quite large, especially considering that the MMORPG is still in pre-alpha. Only the restrictions on names – 2 to 13 characters and no spaces – received a little criticism on YouTube.
You can watch the video here. At the end of the video you can take a quick look at the Pax Dei map:
Pax Dei impresses with housing, receives criticism for PvP
What kind of game is this anyway? In Pax Dei, the focus is on adventure. You don’t just follow any quests, but you can basically do whatever you want.
A highlight is the housing system, where you can build freely in the open world. Away from paths or special points of interest, you can simply claim a piece of land for yourself.
If you want, you can connect this land with other players and build small settlements or even large cities. In various screenshots, the developers showed large taverns, blacksmiths, temples and chic half-timbered houses.
Is there also criticism? Yes. Most recently, the PvP system was introduced, which not everyone likes. Although there should be no fights between players in many areas in Pax Dei, there should be in special contested provinces. There should also be unique materials there.
If you die in PvP, players can also loot some of your inventory and equipment. Death also causes more damage to your equipment, which means it will be destroyed more quickly. So it’s seen more as a resource like a potion and not something you farm once and then carry forever.
