New MMORPG offers vampires and werewolves as playable races, relies on at least 18 different classes

Ex World Online is a new indie MMORPG developed by people who love to play MMORPGs themselves. They promise an in-depth gaming experience with different races, classes and even building your own kingdoms.

What is this game exactly? Ex World Online becomes Free2Play and promises a shop that is neither based on Pay2Win nor on Pay2Convenience. It relies on colorful, stylized anime graphics in Unreal Engine 5 and promises that both PvE and PvP fans should feel comfortable.

  • When creating your character, you have the choice of humans, werewolves and vampires. However, the choice of race has no influence on your relationship with other players, so there are no factions to which you are bound.
  • At the start of the beta you should be able to choose from 8 classes, more than 18 classes are planned for release. It is based on a Holy Trinity of tank, healer and DD.
  • For PvE fans there should be solo dungeons, group instances and hardcore raids.
  • For PvP players, Ex World Online offers instanced arenas and battles for territory in the open world. You should be able to conquer cities with your guild and build entire kingdoms. Politics, intrigue and drama should play a role. If you want, you can also travel around alone as an outcast and quietly and secretly rob the great kingdoms.
  • There should also be 14 different life skills, including blacksmithing, fishing and cooking, but also bounty hunting and husbandry – ie raising your own animals.

    • As for the combat system, the new MMORPG mixes action and tab targeting. Many attacks require you to aim yourself, but there are also abilities that are guaranteed to hit enemies. The developers themselves call it a “hybrid system”.

    When is the game out? Ex World Online has been in development since October 6, 2020 and entered pre-alpha in December 2022. There is no date for the start of the regular alpha that you can buy into. An official release date has not yet been shared either.

    Who is behind the game? Z House Studios is an indie developer that employs between 11 and 50 people, according to LinkedIn. They are all said to be passionate MMORPG players who have come together to develop their own title.

    The description says:

    We all share an unwavering love for the MMORPG genre and a burning desire to help create the next great gaming adventure that will capture the hearts and minds of gamers around the world.

    We are determined to break new ground in the world of MMORPGs, to push the boundaries of innovation and to redefine what it really means to make games “for gamers, by gamers”.

    The most popular games in the company are Black Desert, Final Fantasy XIV and WoW. On Twitter, they have also made several negative comments about NFTs, so they will definitely not be part of the MMORPG.

    How is the studio financed? It is currently financed by its own private funds. These should ensure that a playable version is created. Then you rely on your own shop, an optional subscription and backer packages for the alpha.

    Because if you want, you can spend between 50 and 100 euros to get guaranteed access to the alpha, titles, Discord roles and other small bonuses. The optional subscription, in turn, provides free coins for the real money shop, discounts in the shop and a tick behind the name in the game.
