With Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, a new MMORPG went into early access on Steam on December 13, 2024. There are now the first reviews from genre fans that emphasize one thing in particular.
What kind of MMORPG is this? When MeinMMO first reported on Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen in May 2016, it was already clear that the new online role-playing game from industry veteran Brad McQuaid (EverQuest, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes) was aimed at fans of classic MMO experiences the PC, with a focus on PvE group challenges.
The Visionary Realms team remained true to this standard over the years, even after the leading industry veteran passed away in November 2019, at the age of just 50. There were also repeated setbacks during development.
For example, in March 2023, when the gameplay material shown from the pre-alpha was disappointing. Or the way the developers wanted to temporarily take money out of the alpha testers’ pockets – with horrendous prices for time-limited access.
