The Swedish golf pro Henrik Stensson won late Sunday evening the heavily criticized, and Saudi-financed, LIV tour.
Henrik Stenson received harsh criticism when he joined the Saudi-funded LIV tour. The 46-year-old was punished, among other things, by the Ryder Cup, when he lost his job as captain of the European team in 2023.
Stenson is said to have received a whopping 550 million kroner for joining the competition. Earlier this week, he spoke about his decision.
With yesterday’s victory, Stenson collected an additional over SEK 40 million.
– I am super proud that I succeeded, says Stenson in Viaplay’s broadcast.
